Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Erica David is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents. After receiving her BA from SUNY Buffalo with a double major in Psychology and Health and Human Services, she went on to earn her master and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a highly acclaimed APA accredited program.
Dr. David’s training and current practice is centered on children and adolescents. She has provided individual, family and group therapy in hospital inpatient units, outpatient clinics, day treatment programs and public schools in New York and Florida. Dr. David is skilled in the treatment of a large variety of emotional, behavioral and developmental difficulties including but not limited to depression, disruptive behaviors, anger, anxiety, social skills deficits, grief and family stress. In addition to private practice she works in a school based health setting which has given her extensive opportunities to collaborate with pediatricians and school faculty.
Dr. David is a dedicated professional and believes in evidence-based practices. She is trained in Cognitive – Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral parent management training, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is also experienced in the use of play therapy with younger children. At Westchester Child Therapy, Dr. David provides evidenced based therapy, parenting support, and school consultative services. Dr. David crafts highly specialized treatment goals and provides each individual child with the tools necessary to enhance their resilience and achieve success.
